EP is probably the msot interesting field in cardiology, but with the added two extra years of fellowship, the poor job market, the added stress, and only making ~$50,000 more a year, is it really worth doing EP.

Can you share your thoughts?

If you honestly feel like it's the most interesting field in cardiology, then you should probably do it. The job market is very bad for EP and has been for several years now, but there are still jobs out there. You just can't be very particular about where you live. In terms of added stress... I don't really think so. I guess there is some inherent stress in any procedural field, but the lifestyle in pure EP is probably better than general cards and certainly better than interventional.
