Everyone who applies to pharmacy school should be required to work a year as a pharm tech before being accepted. You will have a much better idea going in of what to expect once you graduate and are thrown into the real world. This may even weed some people out who don't have what it takes to gracefully point a customer to the bathroom while jotting down voicemails, verifying prescriptions and ringing up baby formula.
So, yes, working as a pharm tech will only help you in your future career, and I would think most schools would like seeing the experience.
