Is having Step 2 before sending out apps important?

I saw a lot of PM&R programs on FRIEDA which stated that they wanted a Step 2 score for interview consideration, which is why I was wondering how important it is to have a Step 2 score in before ERAS apps are due in September. Good luck to everyone doing/finishing up interviews!

Not at all. I applied and only updated schools with my Step 2 score about a month later. No issues whatsoever.

if you did excellent on step 1, probably not.
if you did mediocre / poorly on step 1, having a much improved step 2 score will help you with getting an interview / during the match.
