I used HY & BRS & Lippincott's in order of need for detail. copied about 4-5 figures from the Lippincott's and added them to FA.

BRS is good but too much, but it has somethings that HY didn't. its more a matter of if you like sentences (I do) vs. bulletpoints.

I will say FA wasn't sufficient for me.

also study biochem/histo/mol cell/genetics first and know them cold.

dang, looking at Long Dong's pics, I think I shoulda gone to UCLA.

(the women, not Dong). 😡

Agreed. HY Biochem. is more than enough for the relatively few pure/classic Biochem questions you'll get.

Kaplan biochem...if only I'd found it first year. Simply an amazing book.

I have started to use this along with the audio lectures given by somebody with a French-like accent. Do you think we need THIS much biochem for Step 1?

Where can I get just the Kaplan Biochem book? without buying the whole package...? thanks

I used the same strategy--HY biochem, HY molecular bio, and FA. All three have a few key points that's missing in the other books. Definitely worth going through all of these.

I have a copy of Kaplan Biochem if someone needs one. I used it for Step 1 and thought it was amazing.
