Is interviewing earlier (few weeks) advantageous?

I received an interview invite for the UOP and was told I could choose between late September or mid-October.

I chose October because it fits better in with my schedule; does that hurt my chances at all? I'd kick myself it did.

Thanks

I know the common consensus is that all pre-December interviews are equally competitive, and at some schools, interviews prior to the admission committee meeting in November are the most competitive

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take between your application first getting processed to receiving an interview?

My app was completed July 20 and received August 30

I heard it really depends on the school. Sometimes interviewing a bit earlier can help a bit, but it is better to interview later and be prepared vs interview earlier and be unprepared. Schools usually have preset dates for adcom meetings throughout interview season, and they usually discuss the applicants who interviewed since the last adcom meeting.
