Have never taken a psych course yet but I'm planning to next semester; do you believe the intro course will be enough to do well on the MCAT?
I'm not entirely sure how your school's intro psych class is structured, but mine dipped sort of broadly into the content the MCAT tests on. Just because I really liked psychology, I took Developmental Psychology, Biological Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Clinical Psychology, which went into a nice depth of the content MCAT tests on. It definitely helped because I ended up with a 132 on Behavioral Sciences. But you definitely don't have to take all those psych classes to do well! I would suggest you take a look at your Psych course's syllabus and then compare to what the MCAT tests on (found on AMCAS) and see what differs. The Behavioral Sciences also covers sociology, which is not taught in the typical intro psych course.
Hey, not an OP but had a follow-up question. I'm a psych minor and have two years to take whichever psych courses I'd like. Which of the psych courses that you took helped you most on the MCAT? I've taken Gen Psych and Abnormal Psych and will be taking Biological Psych next semester. 🙂 Any recommendations for future courses would be great!
