to use your AMCAS essay for my NYU essay? Especially if you are sending your AMCAS application as supporting materials?

I rewrote an essay for NYU particular for the school. My boyfriend's mother knows someone on the admissions board who says if your AMCAS statement is more personal than it is geared toward why you want to go to med school that you should probably write a new essay. In addition, I sent NYU my AMCAS and vision statements. Hope that helps!

I would say personalize it for NYU. They don't need to have the same essay twice!! Why not take the opportunity to say something else about yourself that will set you apart from other applicants?

I used essentially the same essay as my AMCAS. I edited it to fit in with the NYU prompt but I was not gonna write a whole new essay unless someone put a gun to my head! 😉
