I want to have my whole application turned in by June 2 (opening date) but don't take the DAT until beginning of July? I want to be early but I know schools don't even look at your application unless it is fully complete! Is taking the DAT then too latee??

That's a reasonable time to take your DAT. It is better to have it early, but it is not detrimental that you take it in July. The benefit of being prepared for the DAT far outweighs the marginal effects of being that early.

So it's fine right? Cause I don't think secondaries come out till August if I'm not mistaken?

secondaries do come in july and interviews invite are mid august, interviews take place in september

this is for earliest school (MWU-AZ come to my mind)

the california schools its probably later

but no worries focus on ur dat

The people with their DAT taken in the spring or any time before that will be the first batch. Taking DAT in July and have everything in when AADSAS opens should make you only a tad late. I took my DAT july 19th, my DAT score didn't post on AADSAS until July 30th and I got interviews starting September so just focus on doing well on DAT and you will still be in the running.

Surprisingly enough, MWU-AZ is my first choice. I already have my first DAT score in though, which I took in January. So will that score already be in? But since it was not competitive enough, I am hoping to do better on my next DAT. Does that still make me applicable to get secondaries and such?

What day is considered first batch and what is considered second batch?

DO NOT APPLY FIRST OR SECOND DAY. Sdn is stupid about this. First batch is anything submitted before the third week. I think last year the first batch mailed to dental schools on June 21st. As long as you submit before August 1st you'll be in the first 5 batches and be considered an early applicant. Don't freak out and submit the first day just cause everyone else says you have to. Make sure your application is complete before you submit. Plus schools won't look at your application until your transcripts are there anyways, which takes 2-3 weeks.
