I'm busy doing a lot of things at once (job) and don't want to risk my GPA, especially since all I have is science courses left; so is it looked down upon to not take a full course load?

If anyone is wondering this would be my schedule if I take a full coureload.
-organic chem 1 + lab
-physics 1 + lab
-calculus 1
-astronomy

What's fine? Me taking that full course load or me taking only11 credit semester

Sorry, still half asleep. I was responding to the title of your thread. One or two semesters of a light courseload is fine. But only taking 11 credits...doesn't that mean you pay by credit? I think that's how it was at my undergrad if you took less than 12.

From a med school admissions perspective probably not, but you probably don't want your loan repayment status to change. If it were me, I'd find some BS one hour elective and stay at 12.

Just don't look lazy. If you're taking 4 credits, living at home with mom, unemployed, doing nothing, etc... yes that's a negative. If you're taking 4 credits while working 3 jobs and volunteering, that's a different situation entirely.

What's your potential non-full schedule?

I was concerned about this at one point as well so I looked into it. The general consensus seems to be that 12 hours is fine (so maybe find another easy 1 hour class as stated above) and those who took multiple 12 hour semesters were never asked about them in interviews and they still got into the schools they wanted to go to.
