is it common to leave a lab tech job after a year?

well most of the jobs I've seen ask for a 2 year committment, probably because people want to quit and do jobs that aren't so tedious.

/tying this from a lab
//looking forward to quitting.
///at least I have a window.

my lab's having trouble finding people to stay for 2...many people leave after one.

My lab hires for one year and then you can re-up if you chose. After getting my 06 MCAT score, I decided one more year couldn't hurt 🙂

After the mistake you made with the UV light? No.

Seriously though, at my undergrad school, you could only be a tech after you graduated.

In private research, you're hired as a tech, I believe.

And at a private practice that hires you for lab work, I think you're trained as a lab tech.

I guess it depends on where you want to work. Ask your boss about it! Or someone who you work with if you don't want to bother the boss man.
