Is it hard to get an EM job?

Just had the chance to reapply for jobs recently due to lifestyle change. Was looking at only academic jobs only within the city - pretty narrow range.
Put out five-seven resumes by email on a Monday (while I was on a ski trip). Had three interviews on Wednesday. Had an offer on first interview which was my number one choice, and by that time had two more interview invites. Took said job next week, had to turn down a few more offers.
Everyone's expanding. Everyone needs coverage, ie docs. It will probably continue this way for the next few years.
