Or is there something in the water....

I know people say SDN's DAT scores is usually higher.... and most of the people don't post average scores, blah blah blah...

Will someone please assure me that every year there is a flurry of amazing scores posted on here and its not really representative of the applicant pool? 😳

i didnt take the DAT yet

but from studying psychology this is my guess

1. people always like to over-rate their abilities, especially online
2. poll has shown that men like to express themselves as 1-2 inches taller than they actually are, while women lie about their weight from 10-20 pounds

3. Average will always be 17, no matter how good/bad the pool is.
4. Don't think so much about others, give it your best. This should be a race against yourself and for self-achievement.

5. I don't believe in half of the scores that people post (could be someone trying to sell their DAT material, advertisement of which resource to use, etc)

6. Bad marks would never be posted (would you want to publically post score of sub 17s and face possible mockery or just read those who scored high?) People posting their mark (Good ones) usually thank the posters for their support (which is why i love this forum) and to help others. But gain, mostly good marks will be posted. I think i would do the same. I wouldnt post scores if it wasn't high

Think about the number of posters here who say that they have +20/21 scores. That is top 90%. People on this forum are smart (which I partially agree because those who look for resources seem to do well in general as well anyways).

So, don't worry. Haha I have too much time on my hands to write this long, but I am sure you have worked hard. Good luck on your upcoming exam! Wish me luck as well 😛

Don't worrry. First time I took the DAT I got 18's mostly. Second time around I did not TOUCH SDN. I feel that it intimidated me and I get nervous as is so why make it worse ahah. Plus, people can be full of crap just to scare you. I wanted to be free of any distractions and anything I needed to know I basically would spend 20 minutes getting the answer myself than posting it here. So, drum rollll please... AA 21, TS 22, PAT 20. THAT did not happen over night (many many hours of studying like crazy), but I can honestly say just make sure you have no distractions or anything. SDN is quite the distraction, but now I am back willing to help anyone =o) SO, with all that being said yes there are average scores out there, I was once one of them. If you need any help or advice just ask. I would be more than happy to help you.

Thanks, I already took mine... so Im fine... but when you took yours the 1st time... and you were on SDN, did you notice the same thing, almost everyone was like 20+?

I agree with all of you. Reading all these upper-20's scores is making me want to retake mine 😕... It seems like I'm an "average Joe" when it comes to DAT scores... w/e, I only studied 3 weeks for it, and I tell you what... I never want to see that test again... Focker Out!

YES!!!!! These forums make good contenders **** themselves! I would tune it out and realize that the scores you see here are often much higher than the average acceptee. Don't sweat it... Other things can make your application stand out.
