Is it necessary to complete AMCAS in order to apply to SMP?

I am soon applying to SMPs but I never filled out a 2011 AMCAS - should Ifill out the 2011 AMCAS or will it not matter to SMPs?

short answer: not necessary, but you might find it convenient
