I am always tired... from the moment I wake up in the morning, until the moment I lie my head down on my pillow at night. I am so tired during the day that I HAVE to take naps, because I just can't function while I'm so sleepy. I wake up, and I'm even more tired. It gets in the way of my college studies because I'm always feeling too drained to study. I've tried drinking large amounts of coffee and even "Monster" energy drinks but they don't affect me at all. Is this normal?

No.

I had the same problem. I went to a doctor, turns out it was hypothyroidism.

How many hours of sleep are you getting a night? How's your diet?

Looking at these two factors can make all the difference in the world. Try getting a couple more hours of quiet, uninterrupted sleep at night (no TVs on, etc) and be sure to eat nutrient-rich, filling meals (especially at breakfast and lunch). It should help. These kind of fixes always make a world of difference for me. I had that problem last year.

Good luck. Hope you feel better.

Yeah, I've had this problem ever since I entered college. I went to the dr last year after thinking it might be a medical problem and he did a blood test...nothing out of the ordinary came back (thyroid was fine)

The only thing that helps is just eating and sleeping the best you can. Also, I feel like temperature plays a big role in my sleepiness. I def want to sleep more in the winter

I'm sorry, but SDN is not a place to seek medical advice; rather, if you have any medical questions you should seek help from a licensed professional. Furthermore, users are reminded that they should not provide speculative medical advice here. This thread is now going to be closed.
