Is it OK to tell DO schools that you also applied to MD schools

I know that some DO interviews ask where else have you applied. I was just thinking of telling them the DO schools but I'm not sure if I should mention that I also applied to MD schools. (and there are more MD than DO too). Sooo would this be a bad thing to say? I heard that DO schools know all the schools you have applied to including MD schools... is this TRUE???? please help.. thanks!

I don't believe that DO school know what MD program you applied to. You use 2 different services to complete your primaries, ACOMAS and MD one. So, why would the MD service send your list to DO schools. As far as other DO schools, I'm not sure how that works as far as other DO schools seeing your list. If they can see, why would they ask?

No, they don't know.

You don't need to bring it up. There's no reason.

I've been asked in three of my five interviews and I was just upfront with them. I feel that you can only learn so much by reading about a school or a certain philosophy, you have to go there and experience the school before making a truly educated decision. I applied to both because I truly wanted to interview at both so that I could get a better feel for both sides of the fence. I have been accepted everywhere that I have interviewed so far, so I imagine that they are o.k. with that answer.

I have been asked at the interview. Otherwise they don't know, and they didn't seem to care. I still got accepted.

Bottom line, "IF" they see your other places you applied to, so what. It just looks like you want to get in bad if you apply more.

ahh ok.. thanks! BTW ... Western COMP was the only school that directly asked for you to list all the schools uve applied to in the sec app.. (both DO and MD). i hope they dont use this against u... blah o well.

KCOM, OSU-COM, and AZCOM did not ask me about other schools.

DMU asked me about other places I applied to. I included my MD and DO schools. I got accepted there.
