Many secondaries ask the exact same questions (or slight variations of the same question). If you wrote a great essay for a question already, use it. This process takes long enough without making more work for yourself.

Just be careful you actually answer the question they ask and proofread to make certain you change the school names/locations. You'd hate to send an essay about how you would add diversity to school X on your essay to school Y.

I ended up doing about 20 secondaries. I did the first 5 and then didn't write a new essay for the rest of them. I'd copy and paste, switch things around, maybe add a paragraph or two, then call it a day. For longer essays sometimes I stuck two together. For shorter ones I'd cut back to the outline before adding back in the bare minimum to answer the prompt.

My favorite thing must've been when I flawlessly combined separate, unrelated, essays that I wrote together. More than once I've lifted my palms up and cackled maniacally. Good thing I never wrote in public.

I must be the only one that pretty much wrote a new secondary for each app. Fml😡
