Is it possible that med schools get our MCAT before we do?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i'm gonna say maybe. because last year, right before scores came out like a day before all my friends all of a sudden got secondaries from schools that wait for mcat scores. could just be a fluke tho

thats awesome if med schools get our scores before we do.... cuz i just got 9 secondaries today... and i have NO idea what my score is, i have no idea if i got above or below a 30... but if thats the case... then 9 secondaries must be good... right?

which schools are they, if you don't mind sharing?

You know, this all sounds a little sketchy to me. If med schools did get MCAT scores before us, I'd imagine someone would have some solid proof. So far, it's all speculation and hearsay. With that said, I got a secondary from UCSF a couple of weeks ago and I took the August MCAT so I have no scores yet. It made me wonder if maybe they do get the scores first, but I think it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Nice! If the schools already received the scores, then they should be releasing them to us anytime now...

If you think med schools have the scores, check to see if your submitted AMCAS has the most recent score.

That is not how it works.? Med school havd special access to our MCAT score by way of username and access codes.

I think they may have the scores - I just got an email from OHSU thanking me for my interest in their program and suggesting that I keep my scheduale clear for the interview dates they use....

Niiiiice!!! <hand clapping>

I just called the director of Adm at UCI and one of the Adm people at UCSF and they said, they don't have any score, they will probably get it by money, all the school get your scores at the same time, and once the scores are released it's not just released to you or to the medical school, we all should get them at the same time.

you mean "monday"?

yes. Scores are not out yet, you don't have them, I don't have them and neither do medical schools (Called UCI,UCSF,UCSD,UIC) all said the same thing.

Well, I was screened at Virginia Commonwealth today and got my secondary. So that has to be a good sign. I took August MCATs. So they must have been waiting on something before screening me.

Possibly...but I passed their screen without an MCAT score so I think it might just be coincidence.

I took the MCAT for the first time in Aug. but I still got through Duke's screen and got the secondary by email about 2 weeks ago. I would bet that MCAT scores don't get released to schools before you even get them.

Duke doesn't screen...
