Is it possible to have be married and have children during a PRS residency?

For a woman with small children, would it be difficult to raise children during that time, especially if her husband was also in residency. Would it be most advised to wait until she finished?

as someone who was a small child while one parent was in PRS i can tell you that it would be more difficult than you imagine. it all depends on what your husband is doing, but either way it will significantly impact your training and their lives. are you talking integrated or fellowship? a month or two of leave out of a fellowship eats up a decent chunk of the total time in training.

I would try the OB/GYN forum, they have a pretty tough residency and the residents seem to get pregnant fairly regularly. They could give you some general advice that might parallel PRS. I hope you get the answers you are looking for!
