Hi guys,

The title says it all.

Right after I graduated college with 3.7 GPA I took PCAT and didn't do well I don't even remember my percentile anymore. At that time i had about 3 years of pharmacy work experience and did about 80 hours of volunteer work. I applied to 7 schools and was rejected right on the spot 😡

I got discouraged and didn't want to sit around and do nothing so I joined masters program of pharmaceutical science and graduated with 3.3 GPA. Meanwhile I continued to work as a pharmacy tech. Right now I have about 6 years experience of pharmacy work. Because of my hectic schedule I was not able to do more volunteer work .

Now that I am done with my masters I would like to apply to pharmacy school again. I know pharmcas takes long to process applications and forward it to designated schools. I am planning on applying to non-PCAT schools only but I see that most has Nov.1st deadline and only few Feb.1st.

My question is do I still stand a chance or is it too late to apply now? Do you suggest specific school that I should consider?

Just tell me realistically.

Thanks guys

I think you should still apply. The worst that could happen is you're out some time and money, not that those are insignificant, but the potential reward is worth it. The longest part of submitting my app was waiting for PharmCAS to get my transcripts, I think it only took them a couple of weeks to review them, calculate my GPAs, and mail the apps. There's still plenty of time for PharmCAS to process your app for the schools with later deadlines. The only problem would be if the schools have rolling admissions, in which case you'd be looked at a bit late in the game and have a more difficult time getting in (maybe).

I'm pretty sure there's a section on PharmCAS that lists all schools by app deadline date. I would start there, if you haven't already.

Good luck!

Did you get any LORs? Or can you find anyone who can write an LOR for you in like 2 or 3 days?

You can complete everything in your application in 2 days (I did). Also, you can send your transcripts and stuff right now or while you're doing the application, so you don't have to worry about that. The essay might take some time depending on the writer.
It's the LORs that may take the longest time.

You can try Rosalind Franklin University ,IL 😉
You look pretty good candidate for them as long as you can redo the PCAT (and get a over 50th percentile is good enough along with your Master degree)
Anywayz, good luck mate!

Purdue in Indiana does not require the PCAT and has a deadline of Dec 1. Try there.
