I am planning to do two Peds AI and my home institution is one of my top choices, so I am not going to schedule away rotations. I've talked to you guys a couple weeks back about my schedule and now I am a little worried about getting enough letters.
Basically, I am doing
1) Peds elective in Aug to get a letter or two
2) Peds Sub AI in Oct
3) Home EM in July
4) Away EM in Sept
Now my questions are... is it too late to do the Peds Sub AI in OCT? Is it too late for the grade to go into the record? and is it too late to get one more letter out of it?
Also... how about the letters... For the Peds programs, aside from the letter that I plan to get from my Peds elective, I get to choose from
1) one letter from IM core
2) one letter from FM clerkship director whom I also worked with on and off for a month (he wrote me a really good eval)
3) one letter from a Peds outpatient doc I worked with for 2 weeks
4) one letter from my public health research PI who's also a pediatrician at the hospital (I don't think he likes me very much...) <-- which is also a problem here because he is in the same service as the Peds Elective I plan to take (the other attendings like me much more)
