I am just starting to write my personal statement and apply for pharm schools for Fall 2015 school year and i was wondering where most people are at in the application process. Am I starting this too late? By when should I be submitting my applications?

I applied early decision and just received an acceptance letter. At this point, I would hope that you have taken the PCAT or are registered for the one coming up in November. If you are, then that's good! If you still want a good shot at most pharmacy schools, you'll want to get your application in ASAP. The official deadline is usually December for most schools but you shouldn't wait until last minute because PharmCAS takes a while to process and by then, lots of students will have already had interviews thus lowering the remaining spots (if it is a rolling admissions school). I think PharmCAS has this deadline of November 3rd for regular decision to make sure all of the applications are verified in time for the schools' personal deadlines. Ideally, try and submit sometime this week if at all possible. While it is kinda late, you still have some time to get everything in by the deadline!

thank you so much! I took the pcat in the summer and just need to get my transcripts sent and finish my personal statement. When you say 11/3 deadilne, is that including the supplementary essays?

That does not include any supplementals your school requires. It means esubmitting your PharmCAS and have your transcripts received by PharmCAS by that date! Send your transcripts ASAP!!! It can take up to 1 week for them to receive them.

Hi, it's not too late! I would personally suggest picking your transcript up from your school and overnight shipping it to PharmCAS. They will accept it if it's addressed to them, sealed, & stamped. Secondly, make sure all of your recommendation letters (check each pharm school for their specific requirements of who can write you letters and how many) are in by the end of the week and that your PCAT score has been sent to PharmCAS. The deadlines differ depending on which schools you are applying to. Once you have your list of schools, write down all of the deadlines. A few of my supplemental applications are due by November 3rd. You might want to call the schools and ask them about what specifically they require by the deadlines. My schools require that you e-submit your application & that it's complete. Complete meaning having all transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, etc. turned in. It doesn't have to be verified by the deadline. For future reference, I would suggest calling the schools directly instead of asking people from this website because people often give incorrect answers and suggestions unknowingly.
