Usually people apply either a year before finishing all pre-reqs or after they finish all pre-reqs. How far along are you with your pre-reqs ?

If you mean apply during the upcoming summer (summer before 2nd year starts), then yes, if you think you have strong enough credentials.

There is a counselor emailed me that we should, at least, finish Organic chem I when we apply.

I'm only half way thru my pre requisites, still haven't started takin, organic chem or physics yet. Thanks for sharing all the info guys much appreciated =]

Since you haven't taken Organic Chem I yet, you need to wait until December when you get your grade for that class to apply to pharmacy schools. Good luck!

Really you need to do some research here. Figure out what schools you want to apply to. Then figure out their pre-reqs and if you can get them done in this next year. You can always at least start on your application without actually submitting it. PharmCAS opens in June, so get things done like transcripts, LOR, and personal statement. The best plan is to try and submit as early as possible, but I agree you would probably have a better chance with O.Chem I done.

I'm in the same situation. I have not taken my Pcat and will be doing Organic in the Fall. But I really want to apply early since the odds are better.

Is there a lot of difference in applying to pharm schools next January as opposed to June, in terms of chances of getting in?
