Hello, just wanted to know if it is worth getting someone to help you with the personal statement, and give you good information about it, or should I just go for it and do my best to write my own. When I say someone helping me, I don't mean writing it for me, but more like proofreading it and overall getting it done. Do people do that or is it just me ?

Here are some people to ask:

-Your current and previous TA’s (from various fields whether that be Math, English, History, Biology, etc).

-If you currently have a job (or have previously held a job), consider asking someone that you may know in Human Resources. People working in HR usually have amazing people skills and can really help with personal statement editing.

-Any Postdocs or residents you may know through your research

-Any nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, etc that you may know through your clinical activities. Of course you can’t just go up to a nurse you’ve met only once and ask them to look at it. But I actually had a nurse who I used to follow around for about 6 months and we eventually became Facebook friends before I asked her.

Thanks so much, I can actually ask my doctor who I volunteer with and really close too, and also another doctor who is in the same clinic. Also, some doctor who works at the clinic but also works at the admission office of medical school in my town. I have a friend who is majoring in english education and does a good job at it. I can also ask my colleagues at work.

Thank you so much, i dont know why this didnt ring in my head before!
