I initially got my EMT license in the military in 2007 and it was through the national registry. When I separated and started volunteering back in Jun '11, my state gave me legal recognition of my license. My license is about to expire in Mar, so back in November I took my EMT refresher with my county so I could continue working with them. Our medical director allows us to have a waiver, so we don't have to do the state exam. I finished the course, and passed, but never heard anything back. I emailed enquiring how long it would take to process my paperwork and they told me because I was only given legal recognition, I wasn't authorized to waive the state exam.
My problem is, the only dates available are Tue/Thurs, which also happens to be my phsics lecture/lab days. In total I will have to miss 3 consecutive classes (2 labs and 1 lecture) 🙁 To be honest, it scares me to death thinking about all the information I will be missing! He also doesn't allow make-up labs, so I would get a zero for both. However, he does drop the lowest lab which means I will only have one zero.
Would you risk missing the classes in order to do something you love? Or, would you rather think about the long run and realize even though you love it, it may not be in the interest of your long term goals? I'm so kawawa 🙁
Thanks guys!
