In Chapter 6 organic chemistry they say that this molecule is aromatic:

I think chad said in his video that anything over 8 carbons is not aromatic because its not planar. Any ideas?

If they say "this is planar" then yes. If they do not say, then you should assume it is not planar.

So for that molecule if they did not say in a question that it is planar I would assume its not aromatic.

in the book it says it is aromatic, if it says it is it must follow all of the rules for aromaticity
