Hey guys, I've been trying to do research on the MCPHS and I was wondering if it is a good school or not compared to STLCOP and if it is worth 30 grand a year. I think I read somewhere online that they will accept anyone with a checkbook so....i'm not sure if it is a good school or not. I am referring to the MCPHS Boston Campus. Thanks!

It is a great school. I love it. Money is not an issue to them; they want the students succeed. They are organized with courseworks. Retention rate is the lowest among pharmacy schools.

Where did you get the retention rate Stat from? thanks

Agree. It's the second oldest pharmacy school founded in 1823 so it's prestigious with passionate and enthusiastic professors.
Have no idea about the other mentioned school.

I ts hink its a good school... though prolly not as diverse and large as universities are. MCPHS Boston is basically a one block college building located in the heart of the city. PharmD students consists of the majority of people there and yes I heard the retention rates are one of the lowest for pharmacy. I couldn't find a solid source for that 'fact' ...but thats what the school boasts 😛

Your initial core professors for the first two years are very nice too... although I've been hearing third professors are a pain :/ Though free help/study groups are a big plus.

Overall... its a small school but it'll feels quite warm and welcoming. There's also supposed to be another building they're finishing up later in this summer to open more space for classrooms and studying areas too.

Check out Wikipedia, and type in Mass college of pharmacy.

It's funny that no one gets my sarcasm. Although it is the oldest second pharmacy school, it is not even ranked in the top 50th.

I think those rankings are primarily based on NIH funding. Maybe I am wrong?

Current 5th year - - nothing but positive things to say about the school - - is it a good school? Dean walked into our class yesterday to give his yearly pep talk - - told us last years Board passer rate was a 97.6% for MCPHS Boston (National Average was 95%) - - he's adding in Board prep's at the end of 5th year to help students succeed and pass - - says he wont stop pushing its students till we hit 100% which I'm pretty confident my class next year will .do .. Don't always believe what you hear on here -- because i've read not so many pleasant things about the school in the past on here - - but talk to current students and look at "current" numbers - - MCPHS Boston is moving on up!
