Okay, I took my DAT two days ago, and it just occurs to me that my DAT score isn't looking good...compared to all other awesome DAT takers this summer... so how bad is my DAT score?

Bio 20
Gchem 19
Ochem 18

RC 20
QR 21
PAT 19
TS 19
AA 20
my ogpa is 3.43

I was easily getting 22-23 on all of CrackDAT PAT practice exams, I don't know what happened on the real DAT but the pattern folding was just really different from what I've seen on CrackDAT exams.. Each and every one of PAT pattern folding questions had multiple 3D shapes merged with each other.. for instance an irregular triangular prism attached to a side of a layer of three rectangular prisms of different sizes and heights with a cylinder attached to the other side of it. I saw this type of question just once or twice when I practiced with practice exams...

Do you guys think I even stand a chance...at getting an interview at least..?
Please be honest with me! :help:
I'm seriously considering a retake 3-4 months from now :diebanana:

OP, you gotta understand that the people who do really well would love to share their scores anywhere! once you have great scores, you would wanna tell everyone about them!
what I am trying to say, is that there are around 5000-6000 enrollees in dental schools around the nation each year, and a only dozens post those scores on SDN! there are MANY who got scores same as yours and even below! there are some who got high scores and might not know about SDN as well..

most schools have classes with average AA and TS scores between 19-21.. which means some dental students had below those scores, others had above them..

you scores are not BAD, they are average! and by average I mean they are the same as many schools enrollees averages!

good luck! and cheer up! I would say retake during winter break if you don't hear from any schools or get any interviews!

Finally someone said it!

Those scores are good. You'll get an interview, so now just work on what you'll say. To be Frank, they're solid in the fact that you don't really have a big deviation. Seriously, you're good man. My best advice at this point would be for you to find a professor and ask him if he is willing to give you a mock interview. Find out what you're strengths are and possibly look at what certain schools have asked in past interviews. Best of Luck

Oh thank goodness. I was seeing many near perfect score takers posting their awesome results and seriously thought my scores are too low to be anywhere close to being a competitive applicant
Do you guys have any advice on how to rock an interview? or any idea what type of questions dental schools generally ask?

Like I said, do your research and ask your professors.
