website is down for maintenance. I believe only until 8:00pm

Yes, its down for me. I am not so sure it is because of maintenance though. This should come as no surprise to anyone. I would be shocked if the system were actually up Wednesday too, as it is partially sponsored by the AAMC. I am fairly sure children were running the ERAS service when it first opened or they probably don't care.
