I believe NYU is still interviewing. It could be that they are moving their waitlist as well because most of the first round of acceptances and most of the second round of acceptances don't keep their spots because they got acceptances from other schools and NYU generally is not a choice school, so the new acceptances have to coming from someplace.

There are a lot of rich pre-dents than you can imagine. NYU is close to full at this point: I know this because for class of 2012 it was nearly full by end of April.

it isn't full but the waitlist is very long and there still are interviews going on

Some people have already been accepted off the waitlist.

Really?

Does anyone know if they treat pre-december and post-december waitlist people differently? I was wondering, how they pick there students off the waitlist.

Also is NYU's second deposit due April 1st? Are there many people who turned down their deposits?

is anyone in NYC today interviewing tomorrow? If anyone wants to grab a slice, let me know!

how does the class of 2012 filling up mean absolutely anything for the class of 2013? Maybe more people wanted to go there last year....

Well every year the number of applicants is INCREASING. If you haven't figured that out, I guess you might have trouble understanding my statement.

i m not sure if it is alright for me to talk about someone else but
she was accepted off the waitlist in an exceptional way.
NYU considered every aspect of her and i guess they thought
it was alright to offer an acceptance earlier than the designated date if there is any. it was january she got accepted.
As far as i know, no one but her got off the waitlist.

How did it go?

It was good! There were just 3 other people 🙂. School was real nice, tuition wasn't toooo bad, but the cost of living is nuts. I ate over at Mike's Pizza, that was good too. I don't know how anyone can talk down about NYU, I was thoroughly impressed. Dr. Mejia said she's going to start going through the waitlist when interviews are over (very soon). She said she expects a lot of spots to open up, and I think there are some left anyways. She told us we'd hear back within a week (those of us at the interview).

Oh, Dr. Mejia said she hasn't touched the waitlist since...December? So don't worry if your on it and haven't heard anything yet..

some useful information I just got from NYU over the phone:

She told me it is hard to tell when the interviews will be done
(they are stillllllllllllllll reviewing the applications)

Reviewing waitlists will start in two weeks could be at end of april tho

Adcom tries to finish up the application cycle by June
meaning they will send acceptance letters as many as they like
until June(of course, not everyone will get it)

However, reviewing waitlists will last until August, as
there are people who declines the offer at the last minute

For THOSE who won't be accepted will not be contacted
until August, meaning rejection letter won't be sent until LATE

The only form of contact for acceptance will be by letter. no email
