I just called NYU to find out the status of my application as I interviewed there in December. I know people receive emails from them ~1month after application saying if they got accepted ( I have seen these emails!) so why then, did the guy on the phone tell me that everyone finds out in February and that no one got emails! What's the deal? why was he lying to me? I know people who got these emails of acceptances saying that they will receive a letter in the mail within 5days stating that they got accepted. I felt like saying "u liar" but i had to compose myself.

Sorry, but unless there is some serious confusion going on over there at NYU, he may have been avoiding/dodging the issue (read lying). I got the acceptance email this past Tuesday, almost exactly 1 month after I interviewed. People are being notified. Either he didn't know what was going on (peeps who answer the phones sometimes don't) or he was lying. Good luck.

well, you may also have got a new person or an office temp who either didn't know or couldn't be bothered finding out...it might not be entirely malicious on the part of NYU...I would just give a call back and see if I got someone else...and perhaps start the conversation by saying you know someone else who has heard so you were wondering when you would, thus not giving them a chance to say they aren't sending anything out...

g'luck

I think they have a bunch of monkeys answering the phone, because it seems like everytime someone calls with a question (ex. Are you still interviewing, acceptances, etc.) they give a different answer. If they gave us straight answers we would cut down on the phone calls
