I looked at start class info on Oklahoma's DO program; it stated the average gpa was around 3.00 and an MCAT of 27, this seems like a "too good to be true" situation. Afterall, have a below average gpa (for med school) and below average MCAT but still become a doctor? Are the statistics being misrepresented ie lower standards but very small class, out of date stats, is the program just bad (#143 ranking according to start class again).

unreliable source of data. Startclass for some reason never put up accurate stats for DO programs.

Start class isn’t informative. Hopefully someday DO schools will have a version of the MSAR but until then you have to use their sites. OK State says competitive applicants have 3.6 core and science gpa on their admissions page.

If you are not Oklahoma residents or having a spouse with Oklahoma resident, do not bother to apply. They are heavily in-state preference

Our averages this last year were a 3.6 GPA and a 501 MCAT. The class was 92% in state, and of those OOS students only 5 (I believe) didn’t go to UG in OK, and of those 5 only 1 wasn’t from a neighboring state.

That is some crazy in-state ties and biases. Glad I didn't waste a 100 bucks or whwatever applying here last year.

Yeah it actually was kind of a different year for us, the classes ahead of us all had a healthy number of OOS like 15%. Somehow I won the lottery lol.

Their lower scores are a reflection of their IS applicants that have poor background. If you're an outsider, they will expect more from you to balance out their averages
