if I did take a nursing course?

Im taking some classes to increase my BCPM GPA. I was interested in taking pathophysiology which has a BIO prefrix. Apparently its intended mainly for nursing students though?

I feel like it could pass for BCPM because the content is mostly science-- it is the study of mechanisms of physiological diseases after all...

Is pathophys a biology course at your school? or for nursing students? The subject material seems interesting too but I know there is some stigma with nursing/vocational majors so if taking this course will hurt more than it will help I will avoid.

I went through some old threads and @gyngyn I've seen you often recommend against nursing majors but how would a course like pathophys look?

It's a nursing class at my school under the nursing department. If yours is under bio and the class isn't labeled as pathophys for nurses or something I'm sure it will count. Pathophys is a pretty common nursing prerequisite so I'm not surprised many nurses take it at your school.

Nursing courses are not considered to have the depth or breadth of a course in a science department. If this class is taught by the bio department and is acceptable for a general science degree, it is fine.

I took pathophys as a nursing student. It is taught through the nursing department, so I classified it as such. AMCAS didn't agree and put it in my BCMP GPA on my application.
