I have been a physical therapy aide for almost 3 years and I just need two more classes to complete my prereqs to apply for PT school here in souther california. When I looked into the schools and saw the cost for private schools being in the range of 70-100K I began to wonder if going to Physical Therapy school was really worth the time and investment. It seems the salary is still stagnant opposed to other healthcare professions and my fellow PT's tell me how the reimbursement rate for PT's are contiunually declining. I was wondering a realistic salary range for a physical therapist broken down by 1-3 years of experience and all the way through 5-10 years. I really enjoy the profession but it seems the transition towards the DPT makes it more complicated to be a PT with the cost to become one and the expected income from being a PT.

Are you going to USC? Noooo-- overrated. The only reason why they're even popular is because of their sports team...Hell, that's the reason why I applied when I was an undergrad 😍Matt Leinart😍

I do agree with you; there was NO reason for all of these PT schools to only offer a DPT when there has been no significance in salary. "Ohhh, but you get so much more clinical experience!!" Yeah, and how does that translate into dollars?

I don't want a rich lifestyle necessarily; however, I want to provide for my family all over the world and yadda yadda. I can't do that making no more than 50k a year AND with loans which I'm assuming they will be around 80k after I'm done.
