I am writing my personal statement and I would like to talk about my endeavors with helping my fellow peers get into fitness. I've been powerlifting/bodybuilding for around 5 years now and I frequently write programs for friends who are interested in working out. I found that I really enjoyed doing this. In particular, I enjoyed writing programs that uniquely fit the schedule, lifestyle, and goals of each individual. I have been fairly successful too. I helped one of my friends lose around 100lbs. 4 years ago, helped my best friend gain 20 lbs. of muscle and significant strength gains, and a few more.

I think my approach to writing programs is how I'd like to approach being a physician as well and that is why I am considering including it in my PS. However, my concern is my lack of qualifications. I don't have any qualifications nor have I ever competed in a powerlifting/bodybuilding setting competitively.

Depends on how you structure it. Make sure that while you write your personal statement you don’t end up writing an essay about why you should be a trainer or physical therapist. I find it’s helpful to focus on the skills and characteristics developed through these experiences that you you bring to the table and how you can use those skills as a physician.
