In my time, I applied to both BS/MD and BS/DOs. I had gotten into both lines: St. Louis U SOM, Sophie; NYITCOM, LECOM. If I had picked Sophie, how would I be perceived licensure and otherwise? (Hopefully some docs and med students reply). I knew this school had been around since the 50s; however, I did some detailed research and it is shaky. I checked the California Board and LCME and it talks about prelim accreditation. In the World Directory of Medical Schools, this is the only medical school that I searched and does not show program notes (which basically is supposed to say, "

Harvard Medical School, St. Louis, or NYITCOM, all of their World Medical School Directory says the same thing, regardless of MD/DO. But Sophie Davis shows it has been operational since 2016 (what on the Earth... people at my community think it is some big school from a long time but all these other docs from the 50s to '16 went to an unaccredited program...) and it has no international notes; purely blank. I hypothesized that it may be due to their prelim status, but I searched it for Cal Northstate (also in prelim), but even Cal Northstate has international recognition like other MD/DO schools. Idky but lots of med students care about "international recognition." It seems like Sophie Davis is not recognized by Canada, which makes it hard for other international recognition? Can someone add to it? Even Caribbean schools look more accreditated than Sophie. I also heard about the primary care deal for 2 years or a fee, which mainly had been the reason why I did not end up going there. So with a Sophie Davis MD, will my brother have more opportunities beyond primary or prestige or something... ? Residency macthes? Or, should he go to George Washington Columbian College of Arts and Sciences BA/MD? Help us out here. CUNY fees are cheap but money can be made later, but the actual concern is about the span and opportunities this degree brings. It appears like Sophie Davis is just a thing the govt. created for getting pcps.
