is step1 mostly path?

Mostly pathophysiology - organ systems stuff like you cover in 2nd year. However, there is a good amount of "other" - pharm, micro, biochem, anatomy, etc. Most questions can't really be classified "pathology," "physiology," "pharmacology" -- there are lots of multistep questions that might require you to make the right diagnosis of a disease and then choose the correct drug to treat it, or potential side effects of that drug.

I didn't think any subject came close to taking up >50% of the test

Maybe my test was a weird one, but I'd say mine was:

80% pathology/physiology
10% anatomy
10% everything else combined

I think I only had 1 pharm question and maybe 3 micro questions. I was a little mad I even picked up a book for these subjects.

My test had a TON of pathophysiology. don't memorize details about diseases, understand the whys. my test probably had like 10 questions total on biochem, and maybe 30 pharm questions. i had a lot of biostats, maybe 5-6 questions per block. every test is different, but usually pathophys is a hard0hit topic.

my advice to you: memorize/understand/know goljan's RR path book and you will absolutely destroy that exam.

Umm, no don't spend a disproportionate of time on path or you'll screw yourself. I went over the whole goljan bk/ Outlined each chapter into a page or two. Then listened to goljan audio....in the end it was too much detail for the boards.
