Hello, I am new to the forums, and apologies for the double post if this is one.
I am just 1 year from graduating for Portland State University, with a major in Psychology. I transferd in to PSU from a community college, with a 3.0. And I believe I will be ending my time at PSU with a 3.6-7. I am unsure what programs look at when they view applications. Will they look at my Transfer GPA negativley?
Anyway, that is my back history(with a little question in it). The real issue is, if by chance I do manage to get in to an MS program(Clinical), upon completion of that program, is it a viable option to work in the field and then return to get a Ph.D? My problem, is that I have a significant other who lives in Japan, and once I go in to these programs I am ensuring our distance apart for another X years. I was hoping maybe I could work for a year or 2, and then return to studying. I would ofcourse work in my field so that, when applying again, they would see I did not go astray.
Thank you everyone for whatever insight you can give me. I love the forums, you offer great advice. Also, I appologize for having two questions, I guess random concerns just tend to sneak in sometimes!
