Basically my 1st mcat was cancelled due to the earthquake, they rescheduled me sept 8 ,I drove 2 hours to take it to find out that I couldn't take it, as they made a mistake and scheduled me the wrong time .Now they scheduled me again for oct 7. Im really having bad luck. Should i even bother applying this cycle?

They canceled your MCAT because of an earthquake? 😕

This may depend on the rest of your application, and how well you're doing on practice tests. Have you submitted AMCAS yet? Verified?

Either way, you will not be considered complete until November, if taking an October MCAT. In which case, unless you've a stellar score, you will have little to no chance at an interview that late in the game

One dean told us at an open house: "Our deadline is Dec. 1, but if you apply Dec. 1 you're wasting your money (enter speech about applying early here)"

I'd make sure your schedule had loads of nice bonus things and apply next year.

Some schools won't even accept an MCAT for this cycle that was taken after September, so even if you are a rock star on paper, it may not even matter. EDIT: This is mainly for MD, some DO schools I think will take later MCATs. Just check with the schools you are interested in, if you decide to proceed.

I'd honestly just wait until next cycle. Take the time to work, relax, catch up on sleep (and get a good sleep bank stored up 😉 ), and perhaps add some ECs. It seems like such a gamble now and a lot of money to potentially waste.

I would wait until next cycle, although you can always try DO if you've a letter from a DO doc.

SMP and post-bacc applications also usually have much later deadlines.

Then again I did get one interview submitting my secondary on November 31st.

For the majority of MD schools, Sept MCAT is way too late; nvm October MCAT... try again next year... sorry
