I am not planning on doing OB and I am not required to take the course for my FM program, but I think the certification lasts for 5 years and I was thinking about taking it just to expand my OB knowledge. Any thoughts on the course from people who have taken it? Is it useful or something that can be skipped?

Thanks

Great course, definitely take it. You will feel more prepared, therefore more confident, which will allow you to enjoy OB more, which may change your mind about doing it.

I took it last yr because I do a lot of overseas medical missions. great course. definitely increased my comfort with difficult ob pts.

Agree. I took it as a resident, which was the only time I did any OB after med school. It definitely makes you more comfortable when things start to go south. I'd recommend taking it.

I despise OB, but I wonder if I might despise it less if it scared me less. 2 or more pts cohabiting the same body freaks me out 😉 how expensive is the course?

I think I paid 250 dollars for the 2 day course with the optional c-section lab.
