intraoral radiograph of 43 old shows discrete radiolucenies not associated with root apices. Radiolucencies are also present in humerus, increased serum ca, increased serum phosphorous and alkaline phosphatase. the most likely diagnosis is ;-

1) FIBROUS DYSPLASIA
2)HYPERPARATHROIDISM
3) PAGETS DISEASE
4) CARCINOMA OF PROSTATE

ANS IS 2..but how can be serum phosphorus increased in hyperparathyrodism..can u guys give the right ans or explain this ...thanks in advance !!

PTH induces formation of Vit D which increases the absorption of both calcium and phosphate in the intestines. Hope that helps!
