is the aug mcat too late to apply for this upcoming cycle? im taking it that late cause thats when my mcat course finishes. is that too late to apply and be considered early or is that fine as long as i get everything else in on time.

I took the september mcat and did not apply until sept 29. It took a long time to get verified (lat november) but nonetheless, I still got secondaries from all schools, and 4 interview invites, 3 acceptances (i did not go to the 4th one) and I only applied to 6 schools. I guess long story short is that it is not too late, but I would only be confident if you score above the average, as the students with average and below average scores likely apply extremely early.

The one thing That I would recommend that I did not do is to get the application done before hand, send your transcripts, have all your ducks in a row, so that when your mcat score is realeased, they can immediately begin to process it. I did not do that, and I should have.

I don't think it's too late for DO schools, but if you are planning on applying to MD schools as well, then I would definitely try taking it earlier if possible.

It is not too late. You can make sure the rest of your app is finished by then also. Then as soon as your mcat comes in, your file can be processed.

I sent in my primary at the end of October due to my stupid school recommendation committee not writing my letter quick enough. My secondaries were sent in at the beginning of december and I did fine. So august mcat is definitely not too late.

I went through the same thing last year. My MCAT course finished early September and I took the last MCAT of the year. Needless to say, I got accepted. Like lakers4ever14 said, if the rest of your app is solid, you should be fine.

I took the Aug 3, 2009 MCAT and got 3 interviews (DO and MD) and 3 acceptances and only applied to 6 schools. So it is possible to get both. That said, earlier is better if possible.
