Has anyone used this book, and is it any good?

Note: I'm talking about the separate book called the math destroyer, NOT the math section of the DAT destroyer.

Also if anyone is selling it let me know.

I just got this book and started with the 1st test. it looks good 400 questions with detailed answers to them. I am sure it will be a good practice for the exam. I got it from a person on this site and im thankful for him. Send a pm to: bbwreckerz04, he offered me to sell his when i was looking for one but at that time i already bought it from a different person, he might still have it.

I got the math destroyer a few weeks ago, and have done a few of the tests. It is looking pretty promising. The detailed answers for each question are extremely helpful. If you get it let me know what you think.

I've been dipping my toes in the math destroyer for the last few days and I'm impressed by the breadth of the questions and the depth of the explained answers. I'm also happy with the rounding strategies used throughout - it definitely gets you into the habit/strategy of using rapid-fire approximations (especially sci notation) to fly through problems, which is important because I imagine when you're at home and sitting at a desk you're likely inclined to pick up a calculator when you shouldn't.

Definitely better than the math sections in the old destroyers. I guess "DAT inflation" now has a race with "Destroyer inflation."

I have both. Crack Math is good but the explanations suck u gotta know wuts going on in order to understand them ( still helpful bc u have 25 extra tests and it ll help u with timing).

Math Destroyer has detailed explanations for each question with 10 full tests. I think it is worth to pay it. I took the exam before and i am retaking it, i remember that the questions i got were similar to both.

CDM has terrible explanations, but just so you know Math Destroyer has some incorrect answers. I still have a copy if you need it, its bounded differently because I didn't like the way it was formerly bounded

guys,

i would appreciate if you could reply or pm me if someone is interested in selling the math destroyer to me. thanks

I have DAT Destroyer and Math Destroyer for sale, with a few other books ( Kaplan blue book, and Kaplan white review book, as well as notes from Chads Ochem / Gen Chem videos)

I feel pretty confident with the QR section..
I think I need good practice problems so that I can keep practicing before the DAT. I'm thinking of getting one QR question book/program..
Which would you recommend? Math destroyer or the CDM? or any other book if in mind? thanks..👍

I recently bought a math destroyer since I was looking for more challenging problems than regular destroyer QR problems. Was it worth 100 bucks? No offense to Dr. Orgoman, but I would have to say no.

The real DAT is more challenging due to its high portion of word problems and Math Destroyer simply doesn't have enough (and for that reason I have been getting 24-28 ranges for all my first 9 practice sets which is kind of a false indication of my real performance)

As far as I know, people who scored extremely well on QR (UCLA DDS, LongShui), they both used CDM.

I wish I have gotten CDM instead... Oh well, it is what it is.

hope this helps,

IMO... MATH destroyer is the best QR resource out there. If you master those 400 problems, about 80% of them will just re-appear on the real DAT with different numbers.

Hmm.. I've heard CDM has crappy explanation.. but I guess I can always ask my frds and stuff 😀 thanks for the reply!:meanie:
Thank you too Dental works! I'm aiming for a high score on QR.. just because I'm too worried about RC; T_T
Any more input is appreciated!

the math destroyer is probably the closet you will get to in terms of the real exam but you will need to learn the basics before u tackle this beast of work lol but its def worth buying and learning everything in it along with kaplan and topscore but this book is a must

Yeah I've gone under extensive training with math in my high school years in Korea.. T_T
I was looking for some some good practice questions for QR.
Thanks for your suggestion azar87!👍

THe Math Destroyer is a killer in terms of difficulty. If you can whip through the book and actually know how to answer the questions, and identify the setup quickly, you'll do great on the DAT.

that seems to be the consensus to use math destroyer rather than cdm........but your better off getting the new one if you get the new science destroyer too the math destroyer jus came out so i dun think you should or be able to get it just get the new one and save ur self the hassle

In terms of difficulty you will be surprised how close it is to the real thing.
I suggest getting it.

I have a math destroyer if anyone is interested. Great condition. 🙂

*update* just sold it! Still have my DAT Destroyer for sale tho 😀

I recently used the math section of the Regular DAT destroyer and got an 18 ( 82 percentile). PM me if interested in it as well

I'm a believer in Math Destroyer and CDM!

In my opinion, I think you should use both of them because I think QR section is all about practicing as much as you can and time managing. For me, if Math Destroyer helped me get the basics and get the idea of what the test is going to look like, CDM helped me manage my time better during the test because it looks like the real thing. In terms of explanation, CDM has video explanation and it's not too bad. Also, the real DAT now has a "calculator" that you can use...which looks just like the one on your computer. You might as well try using it while you're doing the problems on CDM. (The calculator definitely helped me finish the test faster because I suck at arithmetics..)

The first time I took DAT, I got 16 (50.9th %) on QR.

After studying with Math Destroyer and CDM everyday, for about month and a half, I got 21 (97.6th %).

Does anybody else who has taken the DAT agree with this? I'm worried about the qr section and I do have the math destroyer. Is it worth it to just learn how to do all of the problems in the destroyer? If 80% of the real DAT is destroyer problems with different numbers it sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

Really? I thought the real DAT was way easier than Math Destroyer.

I agree. When I took the DAT math section, for a minute I thought I was looking at the Math Destroyer. the problems were very similar and some of them were the same except for numbers.
Didn't use CDM so I can't tell you anything about it. From what I hear it has crappy explanations.

The good quality about math Destroyer is that the explanations are designed the way you should be thinking about a problem during the test. Definitely a good tool.

Might try this practice book but someone from our pre dental society used the kaplan SAT book so I'm going over that now which is pretty basic for the most part, good refresher. I also heard that we should practice with a note board since the prometric testing centers uses that as a scratch paper. Best to practice with a white board or what they use at the testing center http://www.scratchsheet.com/node/169

hey, im interested in purchasing the Math Destroyer (preferably on PDF), do you still have it on sale?
