So it seems like a lot of people use Netter's for Anatomy. Does anyone have the CDrom that goes along with the Netter's Atlas and think it is helpful/worth the extra $30? Thanks 😉

I've read several reviews from other students and posters on Amazon which universally trash the CD rom version. The interface is supposed to be poorly designed and the resolution on the rom pictures don't really compare with those on the images found in the Netter's text. I have yet to hear anything positive on this, so I would go with just buying the text.

I definitely reccomend the CD. The CD has all of the plates contained in the atlas as well as USMLE format practice questions. The CD also has a search function that comes in handy. With the CD there is an option to take away the labels, which is useful in studying for lab exams. But on the other hand you can save 30 bucks by burning a copy from a fellow classmate.

why to publishers have to put cds in text books in such a screwed up fasion? 👎 i hate what's left after the cd is gone.

sorry, little things drive me nuts!

Some of the Netter stuff is okay and we were all given a copy here but I used the Rohen atlas for most of my studying since it's photos, not renderings. That said, if you find the Netter atlas useful, I'd get the CD, mainly for the practice questions, which I did find to be really good to have around.

the cd was actually super useful for me. I used it whenever i had to give presentations in tutorial. I used a screen shot program (free) to get the images and without it I would have been stuck using the very old, hard to read grays anatomy online pictures. Also, someone in our class made study guides for us using the cd which was great and the search function is helpful. I only very rarely opened the actual atlas. Oh and another perk: when i was on airplanes it was a lot easier to prepare for anatomy lab using my laptop than lugging the big atlas around.

Yea, I'm trying to figure out which atlas to invest in: Netters, Gray's for Students, or Rohen. I think I ought to look through them at a bookstore...

Thanks for your input 🙂

Gray's for students was the required text for our anatomy course - it was the standard for exams, etc. It is not very good, many errors, and the figures are ok for some things, but bad for other things. I'd only buy it if I had to - Netters, Rohen and class lecture/notes should be plenty

I just bought both of these online, and they both look awesome!!! especially Rohen!! My co-workers here (i work at a law firm) were all grossed out! No wonder they went into law.

i got the CD late in my course and found it extremely useful. i even skipped a couple of labs toward the end and just used the CD. in the exams, they give you the "textbook presentation" so using the CD to quiz yourself is very helpful. at least it was for me. of course, i didn't have to pay for my copy. still, i think i would shell out 30 bucks for it.
good luck!
