will someone else check on their 2004 amcas... before i had myself classified as 'other.' but, it appears as if that designation no longer exists. that's really strange...

if i'm persian do i enter "white"? that's a false classification but i'm definitely not asian or african(somewhere in between the two). i guess i'll just mark white.

yes, i believe you are caucasian. I think the reason AMCAS eliminated "other" was because they claimed too many people were misusing it when an appropriate category was already listed for them.
