I talked to them a few days ago, because I was verified 7/12 and I'm not even acknowledged by the site, and the lady mentioned a "glitch" and said more AMCAS will be recognized by mid-late this week. She said Wednesday... that's today... Keeping fingers crossed like a good Jew. So yes, in answer, there will be more secondaries as some people's apps. aren't even acknowledged.

Hmm, not sure. Maybe you're "iffier" than the others, but there are definitely other secondaries going out. Keep hopes up until you get a secondary or their nice rejection letter.

Gossmer, have you yet heard anything from UCSF? If not, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I was verified 7/8 and have heard nothing at all. I called today, and they said that there have been IT problems with getting the info from AMCAS. Go to the status page and see if they have your data. If not, you have nothing to worry about; they'll get it when they can. If so, then you can start stressing about not getting a secondary invite if you really want to.

Have you checked their status page? Also, I would wait until early next week, when the 'lady on the phone' informed me that all of the glitches will have been worked out, before you start stressing in earnest.

Yeah, he is. He's a Caltech grad student. I'm instate, too, though - mine was lost in the glitch and verified 7/12.

They did say 3-10 weeks from when they receive your amcas, and it seems the early ones got there around July 18. It has barely been three weeks, no need to stress yet!

From what I've heard, UCSF reviews your application pretty carefully before sending out secondaries. Maybe people who got them during the first round did so because of their high scores and GPAs. They probably give some out based on numbers and others based on the whole app., since this is how the UCs do undergrad admissions.

just to keep my hopes up.. although I've heard they are pretty selective with who they send secondaries to...so congrats to those who got them already. : )
