Is there an advantage to being male when it comes to admissions?

UC Davis definitely has no preference. I checked both the CO 2014 and 2015 stats:

  • 2014:
    Female % accepted: 12.3%
    Male % accepted: 13.4%
  • 2015:
    Female % accepted: 12.6%
    Male % accepted: 13.5%
Ok, well, I lied. If you are male, then your odds of getting in are a whopping 1% better. Of course this is only one school, not claiming this applies to every one.

OT but I have to ask now that I've seen it too many times. What the hell is 'trolling'. Is that just when someone posts something to spice up the boards under a fake name?
