Is there an easy way to remember when to use pascals vs. atms?

Or to remember which equations use pascals, and which use atms?

It just depends which version of R you use.

0.0821 L*atm/mol*K

&

8.31 J/mol*K

I find it is common in chemistry to use atmospheres with ideal gas calculations and to use Pascals in physics problems that deal in SI units.

The best advice is to remember that 1 atm = 101,325 N/m^2 and use whatever fits with the units in your formulas.
