I just graduated from a top Florida university with a 3.25 cGPA and a 3.0 sGPA. My plan was to go to another university and take some additional upper level science courses in order to improve my GPA but things aren't going the way I was planning (with life/relationships/work/money), so I want to move back home and just withdraw from the 2 courses I'm taking this semester.

I have not taken my MCAT yet but I am planning to take it in the spring.
My community service/extracurriculars are decent.

Any chance of me getting accepted anywhere? I just feel like giving up at this point.

For MD schools no, and for many DO school, yes.

that's what i figured. do you think i should continue to take these post-bacch courses? it's an informal post-bacch so they are still undergrad courses.

With your current GPA, retaking courses and getting a better grade will really help your prospects. So yes, continuing to take post-bacc courses will be beneficial.

what if i dedicated spring semester to just studying for my MCAT? would a good score on the MCAT help me out better than taking only 2 additional classes by the time i apply for medical school this coming summer?

A high score on the MCAT will help you more than a slight GPA bump to be sure. Don't take the MCAT under-prepared.

Strongly concur. You need to show AdComs that you can handle medical school. A super MCAT will not make up for below avg GPAs for MD programs. There are a few of them that do reward reinvention, at least. For DO programs, any repeated science coursework will only count the higher grade...does wonders for the old GPA.

For MD programs, the avg acceptee has a GPA of around 3.6. 3.4 seems to be the floor, depending upon the school, and below that chances are < 10%. Amongst those are the people who excel in post-bac or SMPs.
