is there neurology on the medicine shelf?

i have just started reading step up for medicine and there is a neurology section in it. is that for the neuro shelf or is neuro on the IM shelf also? i have also done a few sections of mksap and feel the difficulty level of these questions were at times too simple (as in you look for a key word and you can figure out the question).

so far the only studying i have done is done 1100 step 2 UW questions. is case files worth it right now? what about the mksap? i have a feeling the step up for med book will take at least a week. i only have 14-15 days to study for this shelf left.

There will be neuro on the medicine shelf. There will be medicine on the surgery shelf. And so on. These aren't independent fields -- they overlap.

I suck at neuro. I mean it, I am just terrible (barely passed neuroscience as an M2, still haven't had my neuro rotation). But I got a 96 raw on the medicine shelf using casefiles, UWorld, and Step Up to Medicine, and I skipped the entire neuro chapter of Step Up. There is so very little neuro on the medicine shelf (1-2 questions) that it isn't worth reading.

I also skipped the neuro section of Step Up and did fine on the shelf.

thanks for the help guys......seein how low yield neuro is, i might just skip the neuro questions from world as well...btw joe you absolutely aced the shelf...did you skip the mksap because you felt world was sufficient for q's?

MKSAP and Step Up are the best two resources for this shelf, save UWorld for Step2 prep IMHO. Neuro is very light, more neuro on the psych shelf than medicine.

MKSAP wasn't very good. I liked UWorld for the shelves because it is the best question bank out there. Why save it for Step 2? It can help you in peds and obgyn (a little) and medicine (a lot). You can go over every question again for Step 2 if you think it will help.

Yeah MKSAP was very far off the mark for the test I took as well. I think I got more out of pretest, which everyone agrees is pretty crummy for this test.
