Is there really any point in applying this late.

I know there are other threads about this and I've reviewed them but this is particularly aimed at Texas residents.

I just took MCAT yesterday and only God knows how I did. I don't have a stellar gpa so is there any point in me applying this late in the game?? TMSDSAS is so late in processing and I figure I don't have a shot this time around....so should I just wait til the next application period??

I've been banging my head against the wall about this....i can't handle the looming rejection. 🙁

If I get everything ready now, do u think it will all get processed by September?

that's up to the processing gods.

i'm not a texas resident, so i can't give you the absolute best advice, but by no means are you late in the application cycle. you've taken the mcat, now get your application in as soon as you can. you're not late. you're not super-early, but that's fine. i actually have 3 friends who sent in their amcas during the last possible week and all are in med school now. so while it is helpful to get your application in early, you're by no means done for. now get off sdn and get that app in!!

TMDSAS being slightly late won't affect you too much anyway. None of the TMDSAS schools are rolling, instead they are on a match process. So as long as youre dont processing by september/october you still have november/december to interview. These are the latter interviews, but people definitely get in from those as well.

2yrs ago when i applied i sent out my primary in late october, secondaries went out in mid december (mad late and yes i know i really shouldnt have) but i still got one interview... so if you can finish your primary within the next 2weeks,i say go for it

I wanted to see how I felt after the MCAT, but I had already sent my transcript to be verified which takes 2-3 weeks...so SEND IT NOW. I got secondaries from September to November and I sent them all in ASAP, taking longer on the harder ones. Overall it was crazy but I got in and could not be happier.😀
